After Breakfast start our journey to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) which is 3120 m, from the sea level, and About 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the town of Paro, and it takes 4/5 hours round trip. The journey to the base of the monastery is typically done by car or taxi, and then a hike is required to reach the monastery.
The hiking trails are not so easy and not so much difficult but physically fit and healthy people can do who have good hiking stamina. The trail begins with a gentle ascent through lush pine forests. Before reaching Monastery we must walk 30m downhill. Enjoy panoramic views of the Paro Valley as you climb higher.
Upon reaching the monastery, you’ll be greeted by its stunning architecture clinging to the cliff face. The monastery comprises several temples and chapels, with intricate murals and statues. Visitors are asked to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering. The monastery is associated with Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), who is said to have meditated here in the 8th century.
