Landslides during the rainy season and avalanches during the winter can occur on the steep mountain slopes between Deurali and Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Trekkers who ascend to 4,130m (13,550 ft) to reach the base of the tenth-highest mountain in the world run the risk of developing high-altitude sickness if they don't get enough time to acclimatize. The severity of the illness is comparable to that of the climb to Everest Base Camp but to a lesser extent.

Even though there are fewer options than in cities, there will still be plenty of healthy meals available in trek regions. Local, Asian, and western cuisine are all available on the menu in the hike regions, but as we climb, the variety gets smaller and smaller.
At high altitudes, it is important that you eat fresh vegetables and drink liquids like green tea, lemon tea, hot lemon, ginger tea, and garlic soup.

Officially, no deaths have been reported during the Annapurna Base Camp trek. However, deaths have occurred in the past as a result of natural disasters such as avalanches during the pre-spring season and landslides during the monsoon season. The ABC trail has a section above Deurali where hikers must exercise extreme caution. It is also recommended to obtain information before crossing the section, which is a notoriously dangerous zone, particularly during the pre-spring and rainy seasons.
