Overview
The Langtang Valley Trek is a popular destination in the Langtang National Park in Nepal. which provides an 11-day itinerary and cost for 2026. It will be a lifetime experience, Trekking in Nepal. It is a relatively short trek, usually completed in 7-10 days, and offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountains, beautiful alpine forests, and traditional Tamang villages. The trek starts from Syabrubesi, about a 7-8 hours drive from Kathmandu, and follows the Langtang River upstream, passing through dense rhododendron and bamboo forests. Along the way, trekkers can spot various wildlife such as red pandas, musk deer, and Himalayan black bears. The trail also passes through traditional Tamang villages like Langtang, which was devastated by the earthquake in 2015, and offers a glimpse of the local culture and lifestyle.
The beautiful Buddhist monastery is located at an altitude of 3,800 meters. From here, trekkers can enjoy stunning views of the Langtang Lirung (7,234m), Gang Chhenpo (6,388m), Dorje Lakpa (6,990m), and other snow-capped peaks. The Langtang Valley Trek is a great option for trekkers looking for a shorter and less crowded trekking destination in Nepal. However, it is important to be prepared for the altitude and challenging terrain and to follow proper safety precautions while trekking.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the city and preparing for the trek.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,550m), 7/8 hrs
Early in the morning, we will take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. It is a 7-8 hour drive that passes through beautiful Nepalese countryside and small towns. We will spend the night in Syabrubesi.
Day 3: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380m) 6 hrs
We will begin our trek by following the Langtang River upstream, passing through dense forests of rhododendron and bamboo. Along the way, we may spot various wildlife such as red pandas, musk deer, and Himalayan black bears. We will spend the night at Lama Hotel.
Day 4: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m) 6 hrs
Today, we will trek further up to Langtang Village, passing through more dense forests and crossing several suspension bridges. Langtang Village was heavily damaged by the earthquake in 2015 but has since been rebuilt. We will spend the night in Langtang Village.
Day 5: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,800m) 5 hrs
We will continue our trek further up to Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful Buddhist monastery located at an altitude of 3,800 meters. Along the way, we will enjoy stunning views of the Langtang Lirung (7,234m), Gang Chhenpo (6,388m), and other snow-capped peaks. We will spend the night in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 6: Hike to Tserko Ri (5,033m) and back to Kyanjin Gompa 7/8 hrs
Today, we will take a day hike to Tserko Ri, a viewpoint that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. It is a challenging hike but well worth the effort. We will return to Kyanjin Gompa for the night.
Day 7: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
Early morning Visit to Tserko Ri 4984 m, 9 hrs round trip
Day 8: Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel 2380m, 7/8 hrs
Today, we will retrace our steps and trek back down to Lama Hotel. We will spend the night at Lama Hotel.
Day 9: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi 1550 m, 7 hrs
Today, we will trek back to Syabrubesi, where we started our trek. We will spend the night in Syabrubesi.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu 1345m, 7/8 hrs
Today, we will take a scenic drive back to Kathmandu, where you will have the rest of the day to explore the city, do some shopping, or relax. We will organize a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the completion of the trek.
Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu 1345m.
Our representative will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home, marking the end of your Langtang Valley Trek.
