Annapurna Circuit Trek 21 Days offers one of the easier long treks in Nepal: but includes a high-altitude pass and demands pre-fitness, experience, and proper acclimatization. Annapurna Circuit probably Nepal’s finest walk, spans 160 – 230 km across Annapurna massif, depending on where motor transportation is used and the trek concludes.
Annapurna Circuit is possibly the most photographed region in Nepal and the scenery looks even more tempting from the viewpoints. This trek features all the mountain aspects: epic Himalayan scenery, cross-cultural privilege, alpine crags, exposed scrambles, deep forests, and glacial rivers.
The Annapurna Circuit Trek Route follows the recently built bumpy roads: an anti-clockwise route behind the 50 km Annapurna Himalayas. The trek goes through two different river valleys and makes a loop of the Annapurna massif. The trekking trails cross Thorung La Pass at (5,416m/17,769ft) and touch the edge of the Tibetan borders. Annapurna Circuit Trek is voted as the best long trek in Nepal as it comprises varied climatic zones ranging from 600m sub-tropical zone to alpine and snowy barren arctic zone at 5,416m.
As the trail rises, lowland Hindu communities gradually disappear and give way to the Tibetan group, and architecture changes accordingly. The mountain scenery includes Annapurna Massif (Annapurna I – IV), Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Tilicho, Pisang, and numerous 6,000m – 8000m peaks.
Annapurna Circuit Trek starts from Jagat village and treks ends at Nayapul. from where the Annapurna Base Camp Trek start and you have to enter conservation trekking permits at Birethati. The trek goes through beautiful Gurung and Thakali villages, waterfalls, rivers, and impressive mountain viewpoints. The Upper Pisang to Manang route features incredible ancient architecture and mesmerizing views of Annapurna II and IV. Two more tough days take you to Thorung La for incredible scenery. The way to go to Muktinath is difficult straight descent. When you arrive in Muktinath you will explore the significant Hindu Temple and Buddhist monastery.
The Annapurna Circuit Trial isn’t an easy trial. The climbs are demanding and you will find yourself challenged on various stages of the trek. Some days of the trek can be demanding but generally are intimidating (except while crossing Thorung La Pass at 5,416m).
Due to its extreme heights, you can expect harsh, dry, and cold weather. We suggest you be prepared for any weather conditions, as the weather keeps on changing shortly.
Spring (March-May) and autumn (September – November) are the best seasons for this trek. The weather is excellent and so are the views. If you intend to trek Annapurna Circuit in winter, do check the availability of tea houses at high altitudes.
